SONIC PAVILLION REDUX
Featuring Love Beats All by Glenn Kotche
Originally developed for the 24-channel sound system at Jay Pritzker Pavilion and curated by Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago, Sonic Pavilion is an immersive listening experience that treats sound as something physical: moving through space, shifting perspective, and unfolding differently depending on where you are.

These works are composed for a field of speakers, allowing sound to travel overhead, circle the listener, and exist in multiple places at once. Each artist uses that spatial canvas to build environments the listener moves through.

Sonic Pavilion Redux brings that experience into a new context at MASS MoCA, adapting these site-specific works into a format that preserves their sense of motion, scale, and immersion, and invites listeners to step inside the composition, wherever they are.

Visitors are welcome to drop in throughout the day or plan around full program presentations.
